Health ministers from Central Asian countries discussed the finalization of the "Roadmap for Health and Well-being in Central Asia 2026–2030" at the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva. Tajikistan's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, is participating in the event, according to NIAT Khovar.
The Minister of Health of Tajikistan noted that the development of the "Roadmap for Health and Well-being in Central Asia for 2026–2030" was an important political process—from the initial dialogue in Dushanbe to technical consultations, the establishment of governance mechanisms, and the coordination of operational approaches.
According to him, Tajikistan confirms that the draft document and its implementation guidelines have been generally agreed upon, the main governance mechanisms have already been established, and the region is ready to move on to the document approval stage and the beginning of its implementation.
Particular attention, as noted, is given to the fact that 2026 has been declared the Year of Health in the CIS.
The meeting participants emphasized that the "Roadmap for Health and Well-being in Central Asia 2026–2030" is viewed not only as a strategic document, but also as a practical tool for implementing a joint regional agenda, as well as a platform for coordinating actions between the Central Asian states.
Jamoliddin Abdullozoda stated that Tajikistan is ready to accept the roadmap and intends to actively participate in its implementation in priority areas.
During the event, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan also met with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The parties discussed Tajikistan's cooperation with the World Health Organization and expressed interest in further strengthening this collaboration.
