On May 1, 2026, a flagpole unveiling ceremony for the national flag was held in the Navobod and Vanqala rural communities of Shugnan district, marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence. Mirzonabot Alisher Khudoberdi, Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, participated in the event, according to the GBAO press service.
A 16-meter-tall flagpole was erected for the event. The flag's width and length are 3 meters and 6 meters, respectively.



It is noted that respect for national shrines, including the state flag, is the civic duty of every member of society.
It is emphasized that such initiatives contribute to strengthening national identity and popularizing state values among the population.
