According to Article 241 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, the illegal production, import, and distribution of pornographic materials or objects is considered a criminal offense. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Persons committing such acts are subject to criminal punishment in the form of a fine in the amount of 400 to 600 calculated units or imprisonment for up to 10 years.
The country's legislation considers the distribution of pornographic materials, especially through social media and the internet, a socially dangerous act. It is emphasized that, in order to protect society's moral values and ensure the proper upbringing of the younger generation, strict penalties have been established for such actions.
Furthermore, the dissemination of emojis, images, and materials of a sexual nature via social media and messaging apps can have a negative impact on public morality. Such actions are viewed as undesirable, contrary to cultural and national values, and potentially detrimental to the moral development of adolescents and young adults.
