Police in Tajikistan have uncovered an illegal migration scheme involving deceiving citizens under the guise of employment opportunities abroad. This was reported by the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, during operational investigative activities, it was established that two men, aged 55 and 50, residents of the city of Vahdat, without the appropriate license from the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, in January 2025 gained the trust of two young men, aged 26 and 25, also residents of this city.
Under the pretext of obtaining permanent employment in Canada, they received 32 thousand somoni from them, which they subsequently used for personal purposes.
A criminal case has been opened against the 55-year-old man under Part 2, Note 2, of Article 335, and Subparagraph "a" of Part 3, of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. Investigative actions are ongoing.
