On April 22, 2026, in Astana, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov as part of the RES-2026 Regional Environmental Summit. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the electric power sector, strengthening industry ties, and effectively utilizing existing energy potential.
The meeting also discussed the issue of electricity imports and exports during the autumn-winter period and during high water periods. The parties expressed their willingness to continue coordinating efforts in this area.
In addition, it was emphasized that the development of energy cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan could contribute to strengthening the region’s energy security and expanding economic integration.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation and develop long-term ties in the energy sector.
