2025 World Champion, 2024 European Champion, and 2023 World Championship bronze medalist, RCC Boxing Promotions boxer Vsevolod Shumkov said he doesn't see a favorite in the upcoming IBF lightweight title challenger bout between Russia's Artur Subkhankulov and Tajikistan's Bakhodur Usmonov, Interfax reports.
According to the athlete, the fight promises to be very interesting, and both opponents have equal chances of winning. He noted that Subkhankulov has a slight advantage since the fight will take place on his territory, but this also places an additional responsibility on him.
"This will be a very interesting fight! I don't have a favorite in the fight between Artur Subkhankulov and Bakhodur Usmonov – I'm sure both have an equal chance of winning. Artur will have a slight advantage here, since he's boxing in his home country, but on the other hand, that comes with added responsibility. Both have a chance to win the IBF belt. Raymond Murataya has proven himself a good boxer, but I think our guys are just as good!" Shumkov told Interfax.
The 12-round bout will take place on April 24 in Ufa as part of the IBA.PRO 17 tournament.
