In the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the spring conscription plan for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan was 100 percent fulfilled on the first day of the conscription campaign. This was reported by the regional executive authority.
It is noted that the region is annually the flagship for recruiting new soldiers and fulfills the established plan on the first day.
On February 27, 2026, a decree was signed on the discharge of military personnel who had served the established terms of military service, as well as on the next conscription of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan for military service.
According to the decree, in April–May 2026, military personnel who have served the established terms of service will be discharged from the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Guard of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Civil Defense Troops of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the escort brigade of the Main Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Punishments of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the agricultural battalion of the Agency for the Provision of Special Property under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the same period, male citizens who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription, as well as older citizens who do not have the right to a deferment or exemption from military service, are called up to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the document, citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan born between 1999 and 2008 are subject to conscription. Conscription is carried out in accordance with established procedures and current legislation.
