Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays and an energy truce.
According to him, Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire during Easter.
He noted that, in his opinion, "normal people who respect life talk about a ceasefire and an end to the war for life, not just for a few days," while emphasizing that Ukraine is ready for any compromise except compromises with dignity and sovereignty.
The President stated that Ukraine supports any format for a ceasefire and end to the war, provided that the state's independence is preserved.
He stressed that Ukraine is ready to discuss any ceasefire options, including a complete ceasefire, an energy ceasefire, and measures related to food security.
According to him, the issue is about stopping attacks on infrastructure, as well as a complete cessation of hostilities – "so that neither missiles nor drones can fly."
He added that Ukraine has already proposed similar initiatives and remains open to dialogue.
"If the Russian side is ready, we are ready. Let them propose any term—we are ready to resolve this issue," the head of state declared.
Answering a question about the risks of using the Easter truce to strengthen positions, he expressed confidence that this would be impossible to do in 2-3 days.
The President also recalled the Russian side's statements in February 2022 about the possibility of "taking Kyiv in three days."
