In Tajikistan, wholesale and retail trade, as well as automobile repairs, exceeded 77.3 billion somoni in 2025, representing a 13.9% increase, or 11.5 billion somoni, compared to the previous year in comparable prices, according to NIAT Khovar, citing the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The volume of trade in a country's money circulation plays a special role in strengthening the national currency, since money circulation is directly linked to trade services, especially retail trade.
Retail trade and auto repair are reported to have increased by 14.4% in 2025.
The total volume of retail trade and automobile repairs amounted to 65.7 billion somoni. Food, industrial, and mixed goods accounted for 37.5% of the republic's retail trade volume, or 24.6 billion somoni.
In addition, in 2025, goods were sold for the following amounts: petroleum products – almost 11.5 billion somoni, livestock – 8.2 billion somoni, cars, motorcycles and spare parts – 2.5 billion somoni, car maintenance and repair services – 622.2 million somoni, as well as other goods – 18.1 billion somoni.
On average, retail trade and car repairs accounted for 6,455.8 somoni per capita.
The largest share of the volume of wholesale and retail trade, as well as car repair, falls on the city of Dushanbe – 28.7% and the Khatlon region – 27.9%.
