In 2025, social insurance and pension expenditures in Tajikistan amounted to 5 billion 682.0 million somoni, an increase of 1 billion 4.9 million somoni compared to the same period in 2024. This was announced at a press conference by Abdurakhmon Khalimzoda, Director of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to him, during the reporting period, pension funding was provided in the amount of 5 billion 162.2 million somoni, which is 869 million somoni more than in 2024. Currently, there are no pension arrears in the republic.




As noted during the press conference, as of January 1, 2026, the total number of pension recipients amounted to 877,206 people.
The total number of disability pensioners is 172,538 people, including:
— disabled persons of group I — 18,422 people; — disabled persons of group II — 85,221 people; — disabled persons of group III — 33,514 people; — disabled people from childhood to 18 years of age — 25,381 people; — full orphans — 1,082 people; — half-orphans — 72,205 people; — disabled people and participants of the Second World War — 13 people; — participants of the Second World War who worked in the rear – 79 people.
As a reminder, in Tajikistan, the rights of elderly citizens are protected in accordance with Article 39 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan. It states that every person in old age, as well as in cases of illness, disability, loss of ability to work, loss of a breadwinner, and in other cases stipulated by law, is guaranteed social security.
