An illegal hunting incident has been detected in the Rasht district, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
According to the agency, on January 15, 2026, a 38-year-old resident of the Rasht district, in coordination with 34-, 55-, and 38-year-old residents of the same district, traveled to the Gorif district of the B. Rahimzoda rural jamoat in the Rasht district for the purpose of illegal hunting. Using a Vepr-1V hunting rifle manufactured in 1967, they illegally killed two Siberian mountain goats.
According to the conclusion of the National Center for Environmental Protection of the Rasht region, the damage caused to the environment amounted to 15,600 somoni.
According to the conclusion of the National Center for Food Safety Diagnostics of the Rasht District, the confiscated meat product belongs to the small-horned goat breed "Siberian".
A criminal case has been opened against the 38-year-old man and other individuals under Part 2, Subparagraph "b" of Article 232 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The case is currently under investigation.
