Police are investigating cases of theft in the cities of Dushanbe and Levakant, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reports.
According to law enforcement, a 25-year-old local resident reported a theft to the Shokhmansur District Police Department. She stated that in January 2025, unknown individuals stole various gold jewelry from her ex-husband's home on Gastello Street in the Shokhmansur District of Dushanbe and fled the scene. The damage amounted to 30,000 somoni.
During the course of operational investigative activities, police officers established that the crime was committed by the applicant's ex-husband, a 29-year-old resident of the capital.
Additionally, the Levakanta police department received a report from a 39-year-old local resident. He reported that on February 6, 2026, unknown individuals broke into his mobile phone store located in the central market of Levakanta, stole 10 mobile phones of various brands and four additional portable chargers, and then fled the scene. The damage amounted to 10,720 somoni.
As a result of operational investigative measures, police officers established that this crime was committed by minors from the city of Levakanta, aged 15 and 13.
An investigation is underway into both incidents.
