The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Tajikistan held a gala reception to celebrate the Spring Festival—the traditional Chinese New Year, considered the most important and revered holiday in Chinese culture. The event, held in a formal setting at the Crowne Plaza Dushanbe by IHG hotel, brought together Chinese compatriots living and working in Tajikistan.
Opening the evening, the organizers invited guests to watch a themed video dedicated to the Year of the Horse. It explored the historical roots of this symbol, its significance in Chinese culture, and described the Spring Festival as a time of renewal, hope, and the beginning of a new life cycle. This format helped to create a festive mood among those present and remind them of the spiritual meaning of the Lunar New Year.

Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the People's Republic of China in Tajikistan , Wang Guochun , addressed the reception participants. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the Spring Festival for the Chinese community abroad and expressed warm wishes to his compatriots.
"On this day of early spring, we celebrate the New Year together, filled with hope and renewal, and we sincerely wish all our compatriots living in Tajikistan happiness, prosperity, and continued success. We also express our sincere gratitude to all of China's friends for their continued support and attention."

As the organizers noted, the reception was an opportunity not only to celebrate the national holiday but also to unite the Chinese diaspora. During the official portion , Chinese entrepreneurs and executives of Chinese companies also gave short speeches, discussing their activities in Tajikistan and wishing their compatriots a happy New Year.
The evening also focused on culture and education. Sun Jin, Director of the Confucius Institute at the Tajik National University , delivered a speech. He noted that the Spring Festival plays an important role in preserving cultural identity, especially outside of China.
"The Spring Festival unites generations and reminds us of the value of knowledge, traditions, and education. It is through culture and education that we pass on the spirit of Chinese civilization to the youth and maintain a connection with our historical heritage."

One of the evening's symbolic moments was the presentation of holiday gifts to Chinese compatriots living in Tajikistan. This gesture was perceived as a sign of attention and support from the diplomatic mission.
The reception concluded with a rich cultural program, including vocal and instrumental performances prepared by faculty and students of the Confucius Institutes, as well as invited performers. The musical and artistic performances created a warm, truly festive atmosphere and provided a vibrant finale to the evening.

Thus, the gala reception became not just an official event, but a significant occasion for the Chinese community in Tajikistan, allowing them to celebrate the Spring Festival together, preserve traditions, and experience an atmosphere of unity and renewal.
