At the Sughd Hotel in Khujand, the Chairman of the Sughd Region and the Sughd Football Federation, Rajab Akhmadzoda, held an extended working meeting with football clubs from the Tajik Premier League representing the Sughd Region, the FFT reports.
The meeting was attended by Alisher Urunov and Sayvali Doniyorzoda, Vice Presidents of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Subkhon Shodiev, Director of the Football League of Tajikistan, Abdurakhmon Okhunzoda, Head of the Sports Facilities Department of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, as well as leaders and representatives of football clubs in the region.
In his speech, Rajab Akhmadzoda informed the meeting participants about the current state and development prospects of the football infrastructure in Sughd Region, where matches of the Tajik Premier, First, and Second Leagues are held. He noted that as part of events marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's State Independence, the modern Sughd Arena sports complex, as well as the Khujand Football Club's training facility and training pitch, will be opened in Khujand this year.



The regional chairman also reported on the progress of renovations at the Spartak stadium in Khujand, where plastic seats are being replaced and a modern lighting system is planned for installation.
Rajab Akhmadzoda set the goal for the region's football clubs to successfully compete in the Tajikistan Premier League, emphasizing that Khujand Football Club must compete for the highest positions, including the championship.
He congratulated the Parvoz football club on winning the Tajikistan First League last season and wished the team success in the top league in the new season.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that major league clubs from the Sughd region need to increase their funding, specifically, that their annual budgets should be at least 10 million somoni.
Special attention was paid to the team equipment for the 2026 season, as well as the status and development prospects of women's teams, futsal clubs, and youth football schools in the Sughd region. The need for comprehensive and equitable football development in all cities and districts of the region, including intensifying regional efforts and strengthening the material and technical infrastructure, was emphasized.
At the end of the extended meeting, Alisher Urunov and Sayvali Doniyorzoda, Vice Presidents of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, delivered parting words. They wished the Sughd Region teams success in the new season and noted the importance of a systematic approach to football development in the region—from youth and women's football to professional clubs and futsal teams.
