On January 27, 2026, a meeting of the Working Group for the Coordination of the Preparation and Implementation of International Events of the Commission of Children's Commissioners (Ombudsmen) of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held. Representatives from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the meeting, as well as Alexandra Chernova, Secretary of the Children's Council of the Commission. This was reported by the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee.
During the meeting, dates for a number of international Commission events were set. For example, an International Conference on the Protection of the Rights of Young Patients in Long-Term Care is scheduled for February 26, 2026; an International Conference on the Employment of Minors for April 17, 2026; and an International Conference on "Improving the Neonatal Screening System: Challenges and Prospects for the Commonwealth of Independent States" for May 22, 2026.
During the meeting, participants also engaged in a constructive exchange of views on the implementation of the Commission's decisions on best practices for organizing children's recreation and health improvement, national programs for raising the younger generation, and the preparation of the international "Know Your Rights" challenge for children, which is planned for 2027, the Year of Legal Education declared in the CIS countries.
The Commission's next event, the International Seminar on the Integration of Migrant Children into the Host Society, is scheduled for 29 January 2026.
