During mass protests in Iran, 300 private homes, 750 banks, 414 government buildings and 749 police stations were damaged, the country's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reported in the 10th.
According to him, 305 ambulances and buses, 24 gas stations, 700 stores, 120 Basij centers – paramilitary units subordinate to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, 200 schools, 350 mosques, 15 libraries, two Armenian churches, 253 bus stations, 600 ATMs and 800 private cars were also damaged.
The Foreign Minister clarified the official death toll to 3,117 people, of whom 2,427 were civilians and security forces, and 690 were "terrorists."
Mass protests erupted in the country in late December 2025 due to dissatisfaction with the economic situation. Tehran authorities blamed the United States and Israel for orchestrating the unrest.
US President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iran if the Iranian authorities cracked down on protests. However, after consultations, he backed down on this threat, stating that he had convinced himself not to strike Iran after the country cancelled a number of executions.
Earlier, the White House chief warned that an "armada" of American ships was heading toward Iran "just in case." "We have a huge fleet heading in that direction. And we may not have to use it. We'll see," Trump noted.
