Employees of the Shohmansur District Education Department in Dushanbe organized a sapling planting event in the capital's Victory Park. Over 1,000 evergreen saplings were planted during the event. The greening campaign will continue, according to the Shohmansur District Education Department.
The organizers noted that this initiative was implemented to fulfill the "State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan through 2040" within the framework of the creative instructions and guidance of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, on environmental protection and transforming the capital into a green city.
The department emphasized that, in connection with the declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Expanding Improvement and Creation, Strengthening National Identity and Self-Awareness," every resident of the district must make a worthy contribution to improvement and landscaping. It was also noted that every resident of the country must make an effort to improve the environmental situation and beautify every corner of the Motherland.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted the "State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan through 2040." According to the program, the first phase, covering 2025–2027, plans to plant over 10 million seedlings and shrubs in the country.
The program was developed and presented to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan by the relevant ministries and agencies based on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, outlined in his 2023 Address to the Majlisi Oli. Its goal is to improve the environmental situation in the country, prevent the negative consequences of climate change, and create favorable living conditions for the population.
