Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Faridun Idiev, a 35-year-old resident of the capital, as a suspect in large-scale fraud, according to the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the investigation of citizen complaints and statements, it was established that Faridun Idiev, posing as a businessman, demanded and received large sums of money from citizens under the guise of assisting in obtaining permits for the construction of multi-story buildings. He used the proceeds for personal gain.
In particular, under this pretext, he received 460 thousand somoni from one of the residents of Dushanbe, causing damage to the victim on an especially large scale.
Four instances of fraud committed by Faridun Idiev have been established to date. The total damage caused to citizens exceeds one million somoni.
A criminal case has been opened against Faridun Idiev in accordance with Part 4 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The suspect is being held in custody.
