The Department of Women and Family Affairs of the Rudaki District Executive Authority held the district round of the "Best Mother-in-Law" competition among women and mothers with life experience from village and rural jamoats. The event was organized as part of the implementation of the "State Program for Family Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024–2028," the district administration told NIAT Khovar.
The competition aims to strengthen the status and role of the family in society, increase family responsibility for fostering a culture of family relationships as an important socio-cultural value, preserve national, spiritual, and moral traditions, and improve citizens' legal literacy and homemaking practices. The competition also aims to highlight the role of mothers-in-law in raising and shaping children, ensuring healthy, stable, and resilient families, and preparing young people for independent living.
The competition's results were assessed based on the contestants' professional and craft skills, their contribution to economical and rational housekeeping, maintaining a healthy family climate, proper upbringing of children, family involvement in improving the home, street, and mahalla, preserving national cultural values, and engaging children in service to the Motherland.
Davlatbi Karimova from the Lokhur rural jamoat took first place in the competition. She was awarded a diploma and commemorative gifts from the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
