A women's and girls' forum entitled "The Status of Women in Light of the Address: From Words to Deeds" was held in the Yavan district. The event was organized at the initiative of the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, jointly with the Executive Authority of the Yavan district, the Committee reported.
The forum was held to clarify key provisions of the Address by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon to the Majlisi Oli, strengthen the status of women in society, increase the political, legal, and social literacy of women and girls, and engage them in creative and beautifying activities.
Bunafsha Faiziddinzoda, Chairperson of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that the President of Tajikistan's Address to the Majlisi Oli is an important policy document defining the main directions of societal development. It places particular emphasis on enhancing the status of women in society.
The forum emphasized that, over the years of independence, with the support of Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, a solid foundation has been laid for the creation of favorable conditions for women's activities and broad participation in the country's political, economic, social, and cultural life. Today, Tajik women are actively engaged in all spheres, including public administration, education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and agriculture.
"The proper upbringing of girls, improving their education, preventing undesirable behavior, and strengthening families are among society's most important tasks. The government is consistently taking the necessary measures in this direction," the forum emphasized.
Ikromiddin Valizoda, Chairman of the Yavan District, stated that raising a healthy and responsible generation is directly linked to the role of mothers, and women, as the primary caregivers in the family and society, bear a great responsibility. Therefore, engaging women and girls in education and vocational training, as well as preventing negative phenomena, are among the priorities of local authorities.
"The executive body of the Yavan district consistently implements the state's social policy in the area of supporting women and strengthening their status, taking the necessary measures to create favorable conditions for the active participation of women and girls in political, economic, and social life," the district chairman noted.
At the conclusion of the forum, it was emphasized that such events contribute to a heightened sense of patriotism, responsibility, and the active participation of women and girls in public life, as well as ensure the practical implementation of the provisions of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Majlisi Oli.
