On December 23, 2025, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Minsk will host a meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The draft agenda for the meeting includes eight items. The main one is summing up the results of the Republic of Tajikistan's chairmanship of the CIS in 2025. Bakhtovar Safarzoda, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus, who chairs the Council, will present information on this item.
Council members will also sum up the Council's activities over the past year and outline work plans for the next.
In addition, the meeting will address the implementation of the provisions of the Free Trade Zone Agreement, the Plan of Key Actions for the Implementation of the Concept for the Further Development of the CIS, and the approval of the Schedule of Reports on the Activities of CIS Sectoral Cooperation Bodies at Meetings of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives, the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, and the CIS Economic Council itself for 2026–2027.
Participants will also discuss proposals for the draft agenda for the next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, scheduled for April 17, 2026, in Kaliningrad, and summarize the work of the CIS Observer Mission at the early elections of deputies to the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, which took place on November 30.
