The Japanese government has decided to provide Ukraine with additional financial support next year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Saturday, December 20, on the social media platform X.
"I thank Japan and Prime Minister Sana Takaichi for the decision to provide additional financial support to Ukraine next year. The total amount of support is almost $6 billion, and this will help our defense against Russian aggression," the head of state wrote, without specifying the specific amount of additional assistance.
According to Zelenskyy, Japan demonstrates leadership not only in the Pacific region but also globally. He noted that the assistance it provides contributes to strengthening not only Ukraine but also the rules-based international order.
"International order is needed to ensure that Russia's sick policy of wars does not continue anywhere," the Ukrainian president emphasized.
