Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan provided assistance to a group of Tajik citizens trapped in the snow in the Aktobe region. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
According to the agency, the incident occurred on December 15 on a highway in the Aitekebi district of the Aktobe region. Due to adverse weather conditions and a technical malfunction, a passenger bus traveling between Moscow and the Republic of Tajikistan stalled at the 975th kilometer of the national highway.
The bus was carrying 57 people, all of whom were citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan. Among the passengers were three children.
Emergency Ministry units carried out rescue operations. Passengers were evacuated from the bus and taken to a warming center set up in a mosque in the village of Karabutak. None of the evacuees required medical assistance.
Also on the same day, emergency rescue operations were carried out in the Kargalinsky district of the Aktobe region. Two cars became stuck due to snow drifts on the Zhosaly-Ashilysay local road.
Eleven citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan traveling from Tashkent to Moscow were rescued from their vehicles. The vehicles were pulled from a snowdrift and towed to the village of Zhosaly. The rescued citizens were placed in a warming center set up at the Zhosaly secondary school. They did not require medical attention.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan urged citizens to refrain from long-distance travel during adverse weather conditions and closely monitor information about traffic restrictions imposed on roads.
