The Council of the European Union announced that Ukraine has fulfilled the requirements to receive the sixth tranche of approximately €2.3 billion under the Ukraine Facility program. The funds are intended, among other things, to strengthen the country's macro-financial stability.
"This amount reflects Ukraine's successful completion of the eight steps required to receive the sixth tranche, as well as the completion of one outstanding step remaining from the fourth tranche," the Council of the European Union said in a statement on its website.
It is noted that the funds are intended primarily to strengthen Ukraine's macro-financial stability and support the functioning of its public administration. Currently, Ukraine has fulfilled 63 of the 68 conditions required under the Ukraine Facility program.
The previous tranche, amounting to over €1.8 billion, was transferred to Kyiv in early November of this year. The Council of the European Union explained the imminent subsequent transfer by Ukraine's commitment to "implementing reforms consistent with its EU accession objectives." Previous payments to Kyiv were approved in August and April 2025, amounting to €3.2 billion and €3.5 billion, respectively, and in December and August 2024, amounting to €4.1 billion and €4.2 billion, respectively.
The Ukraine Facility, launched in March 2024, will run until 2027 and provide Ukraine with up to €50 billion in stable and predictable financial support during this period, according to the European Commission's website. In addition to the six tranches, the European Union has also allocated €6 billion in bridge financing and €1.89 billion in advance financing to Ukraine.
Disbursements under the Ukraine Facility are linked to the country's implementation of a specific recovery and reform plan, as well as support for democratic mechanisms, the rule of law, and human rights. Payments are made quarterly following a review by the European Commission of compliance with the terms and conditions.
