On December 9, 2025, in New Delhi (Republic of India), the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage officially approved the periodic report of the Republic of Tajikistan on the implementation of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as on the current status of elements included in the UNESCO Representative List, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
Tajikistan's report received a positive assessment from the Committee, confirming the country's contribution to advancing policies aimed at preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage. The report notes that Tajikistan demonstrates consistent and exemplary policies in this area.
The periodic report was reviewed during the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held from 8 to 13 December 2025 in New Delhi. The report was recommended as a model document for other countries.
