The 36th meeting of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs took place on November 20 in Astana. Representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as member organizations of the Commonwealth countries and the CIS Executive Committee participated in the discussions, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
Participants reviewed 12 issues, including the implementation of action plans for the implementation of the International Youth Cooperation Strategy and the Concept for the Development of Cooperation in Support of the Volunteer Movement.
The preparations and implementation of events in CIS countries commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War were also discussed. It was noted that concert programs, festivals, performances, memorial evenings, patriotic competitions, memory lessons, seminars, conferences, and roundtable discussions have been held in the Commonwealth countries.
During the meeting, information was presented on Kazakhstan's state youth policy. Council members noted the developed infrastructure and mechanisms for implementing youth policy, including support programs and the provision of grants and awards for projects, research, and creative initiatives.
The results of the International Youth Project "100 Ideas for the CIS" for 2024–2025 were summarized. The Council's Work Plan for next year was approved. Preparations for the 1st CIS Volunteer Forum, work on an information and analytical collection for the Council's 20th anniversary, and materials for the exhibition "CIS for Youth. Youth for the CIS" at the CIS History Museum were discussed.
In addition, the results of the 2025 CIS Youth Capital project in Gabala (Azerbaijan) were summed up, and the draft Implementation Plan for the project for 2026 in Kapan (Armenia) was approved.
