On November 12, 2025, the Anor festival was held in Nurek, where farms presented various varieties of pomegranate, according to the Executive Authority of State Authority of Khatlon Region.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda, Chairman of the Khatlon Region Davlatali Said, and participants of the Khatlon Invest 2025 International Investment Forum. The festival provided an opportunity to share experiences, present domestic products, and promote local agricultural crops.
Tajikistan has 2,722 hectares of pomegranate orchards, 1,359 of which are occupied by fruit-bearing trees. As of early October 2025, the country's gardeners had harvested 4,917 tons of pomegranates. Five varieties of this crop, considered one of the most economically viable, are grown in the country.
In particular, pomegranates are grown in a pomegranate orchard in the Puli Sangin Nurek jamoat on 124 hectares. According to the orchard's director, Alichod Asoev, up to 60 tons of pomegranates are harvested from this plot annually.
