Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the "Central Asia + United States of America" summit, which was held in the United States under the chairmanship of President Donald Trump, TDH reports.
The meeting was also attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Opening the summit, Trump thanked the participants for their visit and expressed confidence that the meeting would take six-party cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
In his speech, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the positive results achieved since the establishment of the partnership format. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the country's commitment to expanding cooperation in areas such as security, economics, energy, and environmental protection.
The head of the Turkmen state also stated that cooperation within the C5+1 format should contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
During the summit, key partnership issues were discussed and priority areas for joint activities were identified.
The meeting participants adopted statements of intent on economic cooperation and cultural heritage between the governments of the five Central Asian countries and the United States.
