From October 31 to November 3, in a number of regions of Tajikistan, including cities and districts of the Khatlon region , districts of republican subordination and the city of Dushanbe , deterioration in air quality is expected due to a dust storm coming from the south, southwest and west .
According to the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan , during this period there will be an increased concentration of suspended particles (dust) in the atmosphere, including particles with a diameter of up to 10 micrometers (PM-10) and up to 2.5 micrometers (PM-2.5) .
According to the agency, these phenomena are associated with meteorological factors typical for this season and may lead to a temporary deterioration of the environmental situation in populated areas.
Citizens are advised to avoid long walks along streets and avenues, especially near busy roads, and to limit their time outdoors during periods of increased dustiness.
