As of October 1, 2025, 701,231 vehicles were registered in Tajikistan, a 10.8% increase compared to the same period last year, according to NIAT Khovar.
According to official data, of the total number of vehicles, 53,967 are trucks, 16,520 are passenger vehicles, 606,296 are cars, 6,007 are special vehicles and 18,441 are motorcycles.
During the reporting period, all modes of transport transported 115.6 million tons of freight, a 15.4% increase compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic reached 832 million, a 9.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
As noted, road transport plays a key role in Tajikistan's transportation services market due to the country's unique climate and geographic location. More than 95.1% of all freight and 99.8% of passengers are transported by road.
