The grand opening of the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema will take place at the Vatan Cinema in Dushanbe on October 20, according to the Tajikfilm State Film Agency.
As the organizers clarified, two films by Kyrgyz directors—the feature films "Shambhala" and "Esimda" —will be shown to audiences during the film screenings. The screenings will last for three days.
According to representatives of Tajikfilm, the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema aim to strengthen cultural ties between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to popularize national cinema and exchange creative experiences between filmmakers from the two countries.
"Such events promote cooperation in the film industry, strengthen friendship between peoples, and create a platform for joint projects. Cinema has always been an important tool for cultural dialogue, and we are pleased that Dushanbe audiences will be able to experience the best works of Kyrgyz directors," the institution noted.
The films included in the program have already received recognition at a number of international festivals. "Shambhala," directed by Aktan Arim Kubat, is a philosophical drama about the childhood, traditions, and spiritual values of the Kyrgyz people, filmed in the picturesque mountains of Kyrgyzstan. "Esimda" ("I Remember"), directed by Miras Kubatov, explores the themes of memory, human relationships, and overcoming life's challenges.
