In the city of Istaravshan, plans are underway to build a modern sports complex on the abandoned site of the State Institution "Sports School No. 1 named after Pulodkhodzhi Saidgoziev."
The project is being implemented within the framework of the Law on Public-Private Partnership, which aims to attract the private sector to the construction and operation of social infrastructure, according to the press service of the Istaravshan city administration.
On October 14, 2025, at the Dushanbe Invest International Forum in Dushanbe, a corresponding agreement was signed with the participation of Shahrak Sokhtmon LLC. The agreement will be valid for 25 years, and the total project cost is estimated at 6.2 million somoni. On October 15, the document was officially approved by Istaravshan Mayor Adham Mamurzoda and company CEO Alovaddin Kalonov.
The project was prepared by the city's executive bodies and approved on September 16, 2025, by the Public-Private Partnership Council chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Khokim Kholikzoda.
The new sports complex will include a modern gym and swimming pool, training rooms, physiotherapy rooms, a sauna, a health café, a sports equipment store, as well as aqua aerobics facilities and related infrastructure.
The project's implementation is one of the priority initiatives of Istaravshan's city administration. In the future, new sports and social infrastructure facilities are planned to be launched through a public-private partnership, which will improve access to sports for city residents and create additional jobs.
The complex is expected to become a center for sports and recreational activities for residents of all ages, as well as a venue for competitions and cultural and recreational events.
