President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Iranian Minister of Economy and Property, Sayyid Ali Madanizoda, at the Dushanbe-Invest-2025 International Investment Forum. This was reported by the presidential press service.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran. During the meeting, satisfaction with the development of relations between the countries was expressed and it was emphasized that, thanks to joint efforts, this process will continue effectively in the future.
Emomali Rahmon noted the importance of the results of official visits by the top leadership of both countries, high-level negotiations, agreements reached, and documents signed, which are of strategic importance for the further deepening of bilateral cooperation.
The President of Tajikistan emphasized the country's interest in expanding trade and economic ties with Iran, noting the steady growth in trade turnover. Specifically, it was noted that in 2024, mutual trade volume reached nearly $380 million. The parties expressed confidence that this figure could reach $500 million or more in the near future.
During the meeting, it was also recognized that it is necessary to strengthen the work of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms to further advance joint projects.
The parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening of mutually beneficial relations between Tajikistan and Iran, emphasizing the common language, culture, and historical ties, which create favorable conditions for expanding economic, cultural, and social interaction in the future.
