The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the State Unitary Enterprise "Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali" (KMK) have signed a grant agreement worth up to €550,000 for a project to modernize the water supply system in the city of Dangara, the EBRD reported .
Funds allocated from the EBRD Shareholder Special Fund (SSF) will be used to hire qualified international consultants to provide technical support and oversee the project. This expert input will ensure that the project meets international standards and improve the financial and operational performance of the city's water utility.
The total project budget is €8 million, of which €4 million was provided by the SFA as a grant. The project implementation agreement was signed in October 2024.
The project envisions a comprehensive modernization of the water supply system in Dangara: improving the quality, reliability, and accessibility of services, constructing new main water pipelines and reservoirs, renovating existing networks, and implementing a modern metering and billing system. The project aims to improve the living conditions of city residents and enhance the efficiency of public utilities.
According to representatives of the Khanty-Mansiysk Metallurgical Plant, the project will significantly reduce water losses, ensure a stable water supply, and create the foundation for the long-term development of urban infrastructure.
