The Gissar-Ayni road in Tajikistan has been completely repaired, paved, and put into operation, the Gissar city administration press service reported .
The work was carried out under the direction of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali. As part of the initiative, the heads of cities and districts bordering the capital pledged to promptly repair alternative roads connecting these settlements with Dushanbe.
Specifically, road workers from Rus-Bakht LLC repaired and paved sections of national significance: Gissar-Sharora-Chimtepe, Gissar-Ayni village, and Sharora-Dushanbe, with a total length of 21 kilometers. Asphalting of the Gissar-Sharora-Chimtepe road began on April 23, 2025, and work on the Gissar-Ayni-Dushanbe section began on September 6, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri.
This morning, the Chairman of the city of Gissar, member of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli Jabbor Nosirzoda, held a road opening ceremony in the presence of deputy chairmen, representatives of law enforcement agencies, heads of government agencies and city residents.
During the event, it was noted that the construction and improvement of this road is a symbol of Tajikistan's progress and national unity achieved over three decades of independence. The road, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of state independence, will serve the country's residents and visitors for many years to come.
The city mayor and local government officials praised the work of the road workers, the quality of the asphalt pavement, the width and thickness of the road, and the drainage system, and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the project.
As planned, asphalt paving work on the road connecting the city of Sharora with the capital, Dushanbe, will begin this week. City officials wished the road workers health, prosperity, and continued success in building infrastructure.
