A traffic accident involving a passenger car occurred in the Gorno-Matcha district of Tajikistan's Sughd region on the morning of September 20. A woman died and five others were injured, according to the country's Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.
According to the department, the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. A Korando with license plate 09-70 OZ 02TJ, owned by 48-year-old district resident Mirzoradjab Niyozov, was traveling from the Devashtich district toward Gorno-Matchinskoye. On one section of the road, the driver lost control, veered off the road, and overturned.
There were five passengers in the car. A 40-year-old resident of the Zafarabad district died in the accident. The driver and four passengers were hospitalized with various injuries.
Law enforcement and medical personnel were at the scene. The cause of the accident is being determined.
