A new asphalt mixing plant, costing over 2.8 million somoni, has been commissioned in the village of Berdibekabad, Suchon rural jamoat, Shugnan district, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. The GBAO administration reported this.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mirzanabat Regional Governor Alisher Khudoberdi. Government officials and local residents also attended the event.
According to regional authorities, the plant will produce asphalt needed for the repair and modernization of the region's road infrastructure. The initial phase will focus on repairing the central streets of Khorog, followed by road reconstruction in other districts of the region.
The Chairman of GBAO emphasized that the commissioning of the new plant is the result of the consistent policy of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon aimed at developing industry, supporting entrepreneurship, and improving the well-being of the population.
The construction of the plant was supported by the Tajik government and was initiated by local entrepreneur Shahrukh Aleksandarov. During the first phase, the plant created 15 permanent jobs.
The total cost of the project exceeded 2,850,000 somoni. The new plant will be an important link in the implementation of the "Years of Industrial Development" program, providing GBAO road construction organizations with necessary materials and contributing to the region's socioeconomic development.
