A delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aziz Nazar, met in Vienna with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi. Ilkhom Mirsaidzoda, Director of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, also participated in the talks, according to the ministry's press service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current interactions and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects, as well as the development of new national initiatives within the framework of the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme for 2026–2027.
Strengthening Tajikistan's potential in the field of radiation and nuclear safety, as well as further cooperation in the application of nuclear technologies in medicine, energy, and agriculture, were separately discussed.
In addition, Rafael Grossi was invited to participate in the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, which will be held in Dushanbe on October 24–25, 2025.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation and implement new joint initiatives.
