On September 11, 2025, a meeting of the expert group of CIS member states was held at the CIS Executive Committee Office to review the draft Strategy for the Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the CIS Member States for the Period up to 2035, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The event was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council, the National Research University "MPEI", the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the CIS Executive Committee.
The document aims to develop mechanisms for addressing complex industry development issues and effectively responding to challenges affecting the fuel and energy sector that require coordinated efforts among CIS member states.
The draft Strategy is supplemented by an Analytical Review covering the main trends in the development of the global fuel and energy complex.
The meeting participants reviewed the proposals presented and supported the key approaches outlined in the document, aimed at joint, sustainable, predictable, and mutually beneficial development of the industry in the medium term.
Experts will continue working on the document at the next meeting of the expert group, with the participation of national energy companies and relevant organizations.
The draft Strategy is expected to be submitted for consideration to the highest bodies of the CIS in accordance with the established procedure.
