Expanding cooperation in civil aviation was discussed between Khabibullo Nazarzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, and Walid bin Abdulrahman Ar-Reshaidan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to Dushanbe. The Agency's press service reported this.
The parties discussed the possibility of increasing the number of flights and opening new routes by Saudi airlines, and also emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector.
The meeting noted that, with the support of President Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's aviation industry is steadily developing. This year alone, new air routes were opened linking Tajik cities with a number of international destinations.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Open Skies policy in Tajikistan, which creates conditions for expanding international cooperation in civil aviation and attracting foreign airlines.
The parties exchanged views on prospects for strengthening cooperation and expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia in the aviation sector.
