Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Fahd Hamad Al Sulaiti, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, and a delegation of representatives from leading Qatari banks, the presidential press service reported .
During the talks, the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for its expansion were discussed. The parties paid particular attention to developing economic and banking ties, as well as increasing investment.
"We view Qatar as one of the most respected countries in the Arab world and an important partner," Emomali Rahmon noted, emphasizing Tajikistan's interest in strengthening friendly relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations and considered specific proposals for cooperation in such areas as energy, industry, transport, agriculture, irrigation, and the extraction and processing of minerals.
The talks in Dushanbe marked an important step toward strengthening the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Qatar, the presidential press service emphasized.
