As a result of investigative operations, a criminal case has been opened against the head of the investigative department of the Matchinsky District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, J.R. Nurmatov, for bribery and abuse of office. This was reported by the press center of the Republic's Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
According to the investigation, in March 2025, after receiving an official complaint from citizen Y.S.Kh. regarding financial disputes with citizen K.O.S., Nurmatov submitted the case to investigator R.Kh. Badavlatzoda for review. Acting in collusion, they demanded and received 40,000 somoni from K.O.S. for refusing to initiate criminal proceedings.
Furthermore, according to the agency, Nurmatov similarly received bribes totaling 137,000 somoni from interested parties in three other cases through his subordinates for making decisions in their interests. The defendants then appropriated the funds and used them for personal gain.
A criminal case has been opened against Nurmatov and his accomplices under Articles 319 (accepting a bribe) and 314 (abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan. The case materials, along with the approved indictment, have been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
