China has contributed wisdom, solutions, and strength to building a community with a shared future for humanity and ensuring global sustainable development, according to an analytical report released in Beijing on Sunday.
"Emerald Waters and Green Mountains for a Beautiful China and the World: China's Ecological Civilization Concept and Practice and Their Impact on the World" is the title of a new report jointly released by the Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Xinhua News Agency, and the Center for the Study of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.
According to the report, China has unleashed the global value of the concept of "emerald waters and green mountains are priceless assets" by strengthening the global green consensus, promoting the vitality of the green transition, playing a leading role in global environmental governance, and jointly building the green Belt and Road.
As the global transition to green energy unfolds, China, with its accelerated development of new energy sources, is increasing global supply and thereby helping to mitigate global inflationary pressures. For ten consecutive years, China has led the world in both photovoltaic and wind power capacity, accounting for over 45% of global non-fossil energy consumption growth, the report notes.
At the same time, according to the report, China has established cooperation with more than 100 countries and regions around the world on green energy projects, and a large number of landmark energy initiatives and smaller-scale projects aimed at people's benefits have been implemented and are effectively helping to solve the problem of electricity shortages and high costs in the respective countries.
China's practice has proven that developing countries are quite capable of finding a balance between environmental protection and development, and China has provided a path for exploration, the report said.
