From August 5 to 8, Chinese specialists will conduct free diagnostic tests for children and adolescents with congenital heart defects in Tajikistan, at the initiative of the China-Tajikistan Medical and Diagnostic Center and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan. Additionally, ten children and adolescents under 18 with congenital heart defects will undergo free surgeries, reports NIAT Khovar.
Yan Hui, Director of the China-Tajikistan Diagnostic and Treatment Center, noted that the goal of this initiative is to exchange experiences and prevent the increase in congenital heart defects among children and adolescents.
It was announced that children and adolescents from low-income families who cannot afford heart surgery will undergo surgery in the People's Republic of China with the involvement of specialists from Tajikistan and China.
"We, together with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, decided to hold this event annually, as the number of children born with congenital heart defects increases worldwide every year," said Yan Hui.
Congenital heart disease is a serious cardiovascular disorder that occurs during fetal development in the womb. Medical experts believe that timely diagnosis and treatment of this condition can positively impact the life and health of the child.
According to experts, congenital heart defects can occur very early in pregnancy, and their causes can be either genetic or environmental. Using modern methods, such as echocardiography and combination therapy, early treatment yields positive results. Children showing signs of possible heart defects should undergo an echocardiographic examination within the first three months after birth.
The main signs of congenital heart disease include bluish lips and fingers, fatigue and difficulty breathing, unstable heart function, difficulty feeding or crying, weight loss and developmental delays.
According to experts, depending on the severity of the disease, treatment may include surgery, drug therapy, and ongoing specialist monitoring.
They also emphasize that to prevent such diseases, women should undergo medical examination before and during pregnancy, as well as lead a healthy lifestyle.
Given the importance of this problem, the country conducts diagnostic and support programs annually with the participation of domestic and foreign specialists.
