Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda got acquainted with the progress of construction of residential buildings for families affected by the earthquake in Tajikabad district. As reported by the Executive Authority of the state power of the district, the work is being carried out in accordance with the approved schedule, to date, more than 70% of construction activities have been completed, NIAT "Khovar" reports.
According to a representative of the local administration, construction is being carried out with the active participation of builders, specialists from other regions, and local residents. "Everything is going according to plan. The commissioning of the facilities is expected within the established timeframe," the executive committee emphasized.
According to the information, as a result of the earthquake that occurred on April 13 of this year, 33 residential buildings were completely destroyed in 12 villages of the jamoats of Langari Shokh and Qalai Labi Ob, another 164 buildings were partially damaged. In addition, 187 families suffered minor material damage.
On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, humanitarian aid was promptly sent to the region, including food products, building materials and essential items. At the same time, the restoration of destroyed houses and assistance to the victims began.
Currently, the Government of the Republic, in cooperation with relevant ministries and departments, continues to implement the project to build 33 new residential buildings destroyed by the disaster. All work is carried out taking into account modern building codes and standards, as well as seismic resistance requirements.
The state provided the owners with the necessary building materials to restore 164 partially damaged houses. Restoration work in this area is carried out using the hashar method – people's mutual aid.
It is expected that after completion of all restoration activities, affected families will be able to move into new and renovated homes that meet safety and comfort requirements.
