How our compatriots who worked abroad are building a career in Tajikistan

Many residents of our country go abroad – for the sake of a career, high salaries, and gaining experience. But sometimes all of this can be found at home. The proof is the stories of those employees of the company "MegaFon Tajikistan" who lived abroad and found themselves in their homeland.

Bunafsha Khodjaeva: Return for Development

Bunafsha was always interested in technology, so she went to study at the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics. After receiving her diploma, she worked in Russia for some time. It was both an interesting and difficult period: new professional standards, a different mentality. In the end, she decided to return home to develop telecom in Tajikistan.

Her experience came in handy at MegaFon Tajikistan. Bunafsha started as an engineer in the NSS department, quickly mastered new tasks, and then moved to the infrastructure support department. Today, she is a member of the accounting team, mastering a new field and is not going to stop.

"I have always been interested in trying myself in different directions. I do not like to stand still, it is important to constantly develop," she shares. "For me, MegaFon Tajikistan has become not just a job, but a space where initiative is respected, personality is valued and growth is allowed. Here you can be yourself and at the same time change the world around you – step by step."

Lobarkhon Sydykova: Return for the mission

In 2015, Lobar and her family moved to Russia under the compatriots’ resettlement program. She settled in the city of Berezovsky and worked at the airline ticket office of VIP-Service Yekaterinburg LLC. Soon, Lobar was invited to the head office in Yekaterinburg as a client manager. Everything was new and exciting in its own way, but over time, Lobar realized that office routine was not her path. There was a lack of creativity, movement, and ideas that could be implemented. And she knew where to find them.

She met MegaFon Tajikistan in 2014, when she sent her resume for the position of public relations manager in the Khatlon region. Lobar could not even imagine that she would win the competition, but the company believed in her. And when Lobarkhon returned to Tajikistan for family reasons, she was invited to join the team again, this time in Dushanbe. In a few years, she went from manager to head of the public relations service.

"I work on really interesting projects at the company," says Lobar. "They value you, support you, inspire you, you can be yourself and develop. It's important to me that our company connects people. Now this is where I see my mission."

Obidjon Khamidov: Return with knowledge

Obidjon went to Beijing to get an education, to get a master's degree. What he saw in China exceeded his expectations: the education system, the teaching materials – everything was at a very high level. He did not speak Chinese, but the city turned out to be convenient for foreigners – basic English was enough. Obidjon expected to stay in China for two years, but the coronavirus pandemic began, and his studies had to be interrupted. It was a forced decision, but it was what brought him to MegaFon Tajikistan.

Today, Obidjon works as an engineer implementing new services and partnerships. He puts into practice everything he has learned: developing digital services, helping to implement innovations and moving the industry forward.

"MegaFon Tajikistan is a company that adheres to international standards. Here I feel that my knowledge is in demand and my ideas are being applied," he says. "I like that I don't just perform tasks, but create solutions that make life more convenient and better."

Umed Gulomov: return to relatives

Umed always dreamed of seeing the world and went to Russia to try himself in a new country. He worked as a taxi driver for a year and two months and realized an important thing: nothing can replace home. “It became clear how much I missed my family and friends. It was a strong inner feeling – I realized that I wanted to come back,” he shares.

Umed came to MegaFon Tajikistan, a company where he found not just a job, but a team, support, and room for growth. Now he is a customer service group supervisor. “I feel in my place here. We don’t just solve problems – we move forward together, making customers happy,” says Umed.

Mukhammadzhon Khuzamatov: Return to find your team

Muhammadjon went to Russia to try his hand at a new field and gain experience that was impossible to find at home. He worked as a specialist in installing plastic pipes. The job was not easy, but it gave him a lot: self-confidence, a good income, new friends. But not everything was simple: paperwork, adaptation, immersion in a new cultural environment required time and effort. And after living abroad for two and a half years, Umed decided to return – because he decided so himself.

"There are usually more opportunities for career growth and income abroad. But I found this at MegaFon Tajikistan, where I work as a customer loyalty manager. And now I have something that you don't always find in another country: I feel like part of a team, not just a link in the system. This is not just a job – it is participation in the development of your country," Muhammadjon is confident.

Usmon Khimatov: Return for Development

In the summer of 2019, Usmon went to Beijing to get a master's degree in Business Management at one of the prestigious universities, Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB). And after completing his studies, he returned home with a clear understanding: he needed a stable job in a strong, respected company. So he became a member of the MegaFon Tajikistan team, about which he had heard only good reviews from friends and acquaintances.

His path in the company began as an engineer in the department for implementing changes to business systems and fixed broadband access. He soon became a senior engineer, and then a leading engineer.

"If you take responsibility, growth will not be long in coming. In less than four years, I have gone from a newbie to a leading specialist. This is possible if you love what you do," says Usmon. "MegaFon Tajikistan gives you more than just a job. Every day you learn, develop, and see the results of your work. This is important to me."

Muhammad Ibrokhimov: Return for experience and support

Muhammad decided to go to Russia for knowledge and experience. He received an education in biotechnology, worked as an engineer-technologist at the Kazan Dairy Plant, and also as a web developer at ICL. Difficulties arose only in the first months after entering the university, when it was necessary to get used to another country. In total, Muhammad spent six years in Russia. Returning home was forced – due to family circumstances. But it was in his homeland that he got the opportunity to realize himself. Now Muhammad works at MegaFon Tajikistan as an office systems operation specialist.

“Working abroad gives many opportunities to gain experience and knowledge, but in the company I found something special – the support of the team, the attention of the management,” Muhammad shares. “Here I can not only apply my knowledge, but also grow professionally, while remaining closer to my family and relatives.”
