The Tajikistan Olympic team (under 23 players) won a strong-willed victory over their peers from India in a friendly match held at the TALCO Arena stadium in the city of Tursunzade. As reported by the Football Federation of Tajikistan, the final score of the match was 3:2 in favor of the home team. This was reported by the FFT.
The match was the first of two scheduled friendly matches as part of the June training camp under the leadership of head coach Levan Khomeriki. The meeting was held with the active support of fans: the game was attended by more than 3,700 spectators.
In the first half, the Indian national team player Suhail Ahmad Bhat opened the scoring in the 30th minute. In the second half, the Tajik footballers equalized the score thanks to Ansor Khabibov (59th minute). In the 85th minute, Parthib Sundar Gogoi again put the guests ahead, but the Tajikistan national team showed the will to win and scored twice in the extra time: first, Muhammadikbol Davlatov (90+1) scored, and then the decisive goal was scored by Muhammadali Azizboev (90+5).
The Tajik Olympic team will play its next match on June 24 at the Central Stadium of Gissar against the Olympic team of Kyrgyzstan.
