In the first half of 2026, forest establishment and restoration work was completed in Tajikistan on a total area of 3,298.3 hectares. This was reported by the Forestry Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan based on its performance for the first six months of 2026.
According to the agency, new forest plantations have been created on an area of 1,230.4 hectares, forest restoration has been carried out on 1,874.4 hectares, and another 193.5 hectares are occupied by plantations of juniper, pistachio, walnut, and other tree species.





In addition, during the reporting period, work was carried out to replenish forest plantations on an area of 1,121.1 hectares, forest planting maintenance was carried out on an area of 10,621 hectares, and measures to promote natural forest regeneration covered 7,252 hectares.
The Agency noted that reforestation activities are a priority area of state environmental policy. They are aimed at preserving biodiversity, preventing land degradation, combating desertification, and enhancing the environmental sustainability of territories.
Work to restore and expand forest resources continues within the framework of state programs for the development of forestry and landscaping in the country.
