A significant increase in air temperatures is expected in Tajikistan from July 15 to 18, according to the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan .
According to weather forecasters, maximum daytime temperatures in the country's lowland regions will range from 41 to 46 degrees Celsius. In the foothills and mountainous areas, temperatures will reach 33 to 38 degrees Celsius, while in the Darvaz district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, temperatures are expected to range from 39 to 41 degrees Celsius.
Along with high temperatures, experts are warning of possible adverse weather events. A risk of glacial mudflows is forecast in the foothills and mountainous regions of the Districts of Republican Subordination, Sughd Region, and the western regions of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
In addition, water levels are expected to rise in the basins of the Panj, Zeravshan and Vakhsh rivers.
