In the first half of 2026, 1,164,596 kg of products were identified in Tajikistan that did not meet established quality and safety requirements. These figures were announced by the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan based on its performance for the first six months of 2026.
According to the agency, the volume of detected substandard products has increased significantly compared to the same period last year, when 245,372 kg of products that did not meet established requirements were registered.
The Agency's testing laboratories found 550,087 kg of food products to be non-standard. Specifically, violations were found in 3,590 kg of meat products, 54,522 kg of vegetable oil, 91,500 kg of flour, 13,596 kg of grain products, 30,861 kg of canned goods, 4,943 kg of confectionery, 55,786 kg of salt, as well as 1,306 liters of alcoholic beverages and 13,480 liters of soft drinks.


Administrative measures were taken in accordance with the law against importers of products that do not meet quality and safety requirements.
The agency noted that, in addition to control measures, preventative work with producers, retailers, and importers is ongoing. Thanks to meetings, seminars, and consultations, entrepreneurs voluntarily transferred 619,409 kg of expired food products to the agency's warehouses. By comparison, this figure for the same period last year was 122,709 kg.
The agency emphasized that product quality control and consumer protection remain top priorities. Consumer market inspections will continue throughout the year.
